Native instruments Massive is not a lightweight synth (as its name implies). Working with my PC and Massive, I cant get it to take up more than 10% of one core of my quad core system. This makes me proud.

Another NI synth, FM8, I cant get to register more than 1% of one core, no mater what I attempt to do. This is all at the lowest possible latency settings running in stand alone mode. In Cubase 4, the results are similar.

Softare, for me, is no longer ‘getting there’. Ive spent the last week or so working almost exclusively in softare, and I am just completely blown away by the quality and convenience. If I could bring myself to sell off my physical synths I probably would. Maybe in another year.

The tech news is all a buzz today because someone saw Obama using a Zune. Apparently, this gets the apple fan boys panties in a bunch (and yes the DO ware panties).
