Well..it has been a while, hasn’t it. I would feel guilty if I had more than three regular readers.

The reason of my absence are many, the main being I just have a lot of stuff on my plate. Between the job, the kid and the music there isn’t much time for blogging beyond the twitter posts. I am more about the one liner anyway.

On the projects front, I am very near done with something I actually feel somewhat proud of. I have a working title for it and my wife has a solid visual concept for it that matches my own. I haven’t decided how to release it yet. It will probably be an independent self release via band camp or som other service. I am uncertain if I will manufacture physical media beyond what is needed for promotion and DJ service. Any suggestions on this, please let me know.

Also on the music front, I have a few possible collaborations lined up. Nothing to really announce yet, but I will when I can.

My modular continues to grow. I have made a few tweaks to it. I dropped the Make Noise Optomix and the Livewire Vulcan Modulator. They just didn’t fit with me. Also dropped was the Intellijel uMod. It was a cool module, but I never really used it.

I am Internet stalking Scott Jaeger (The Harvestman) waiting for him to announce that the Bionic Lester module is available. I need more fucked up filtering options. Also, I just cannot wait for the Pittsburgh Foundation. It will add a nice boost to my system. True, the voice is somewhat generic, but this is modular and I have plenty of weird elsewhere. I actually look forward to having an adsr envelope in the mix. Currently, I only have AD type envelopes.

The last thing I feel need to mention is that I finally broke down and bought an iPad. Yes..I drank the koolaide. So far, I really enjoy it. It is simple to use and well designed. Surprisingly easy to type on (as this blog post demonstrates) and I can see it being of great use to running the modular once I get an audio/midi solution for it. I do kinda feel like I have betrayed my principals a bit. But who really fucking cares.
